Mission Conference

What is a Faith Promise?

A faith promise for missions is an amount of money or goods that you are willing to promise to give to missions, both here at home and around the world, in faith that God will provide that amount. It is an amount over and above the tithe. At the time you make the Faith Promise, the source of amount you promise may be unknown to you. A Faith Promise is not a pledge. The church will not call upon you for it. This promise is understood to be in addition to all other commitments to First Presbyterian Church.

Three ways to participate in Faith Promise

1. Pray:The effectiveness of our missionaries is dependent on our regular prayers for them. Please resolve to pray regularly for several of our missionary families. You can use the Faith Promise card to request a missionary to be assigned to you for prayer for the year.

Will you pray for our missionaries?

2. Give:This coming year we hope to take on the support of many new missionaries, church planters, and campus ministers while maintaining those we already support. Use your Faith Promise card and give as God leads on Faith Promise Sunday.

What will you give?

3. Go: During this Missions Conference, pray that God will call many people out from our congregation to go and serve as short-term (one to two years) or career missionaries. Pray that He will lead others of us to go on one of FPC’s short-term mission trips. Use your Faith Promise card to indicate your interest in going.

Will you consider going?
