JAMES: Mercy Triumphs
James is an eminently practical epistle, full of vivid exhortation to godly living. He gives profound counsel on topics like: trials, poverty, riches, justice, the tongue, worldliness, and prayer. In it he shows that obedience of the heart is the hallmark, not of mere outward conformity, but of living faith.
He stirs us to live lives worthy of the gospel, insisting that obedience is a prime mark of true religion. Even our inability to perform what He commands drives us to the refuge of the gospel, and His mercy triumphs in our lives.
