Every woman at First Presbyterian Church is a member of the Women in the Church (WIC) and is invited to participate in activities, services, studies, and ministries provided especially for women.
The WIC sponsors programs with outstanding speakers and teachers who challenge women in their spiritual growth and offers many opportunities for service and mission in which women are invited to use their gifts to serve, support, and care for the body of Christ and our community.

MOMS is a Bible study for expectant moms, those who hope to become moms, and those whose youngest child is in the sixth grade or below. Back to Basics: Steps for Studying the Not-So-Basic Word
Wednesdays: 9–11 a.m.
with David Strain
David Strain will lead us through an overview of a personal Bible study. What does it mean to regularly, individually read the Bible? Why should this be a priority for us? And how can we be successful in making this a regular part of our lives?
Steadfast Faith: A Study of James
Select Tuesdays: 6 p.m.
MOMS at Night will continue to study of the book of James, led by Jane Wiggins. As believers in Christ, we are called to be steadfast in our Christian walk. To be steadfast is to be unwavering regardless of our circumstances. James addresses trials and temptations, suffering and sickness, and wealth and poverty. He confronts our sin, speech, and pride. Through our study we will realize that ultimately, we can remain steadfast only because of God’s faithfulness.
Schedule:
- February 6 & 20
- March 5 & 19
- April 2 & 16

COVENANT: God’s Amazing Grace
Fall Women’s Bible Study with Laura Husband
Thursdays: 9:45-11:00 a.m.
God has revealed His Covenant of Grace with us in His Word through Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and most importantly, through Jesus Christ. Understanding these interlinked covenants in the Bible will provide great assurance and hope to any believer. Charles Spurgeon said, “The doctrine of the Covenant lies at the root of all true theology…. I know of no doctrine grander than this. It is the very soul and essence of all Scripture. Can you conceive of the idea that before all things – God thought of you?” Join us as Laura Husband helps us understand this important doctrine. This study will be a large group lecture only.

ISAIAH: The Lord Saves
Fall Women’s Bible Study
Thursdays: 9:15-11:00 a.m. Teachers: Helen Lewis, Melissa Abraham, Carol Anne Miconi, and Ella Payne
Join us on Thursday mornings, as we study the book of Isaiah. The book of Isaiah comforts our fears and sorrows by pointing us to the rest and peace that come from entrusting ourselves to God. He describes a world where a fallen people hear the holy God. Divine words come full of truth and grace; they expose sin while offering — beneath all failure — hope and redemption. But most importantly, Isaiah continually points forward to the coming of Jesus. The format will be large group lecture and small group discussion. Helen Lewis, Melissa Abraham, Carol Anne Miconi, and Ella Payne will be teaching the study. This Bible study is for women of all ages, including a small group for mothers of teens.

What is a Circle Bible Study?
Circles are groups of women who meet the second week of each month (September-May); the days, times, and locations vary. See the listing of Circles below and join one that meets at a time and location convenient to you! Some meet in homes, and some meet at the church. A nursery can be provided for those that meet at the church. Circles meet for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and to learn of opportunities for service within our church. Circles actively support missionaries and are involved in the lives of our Golden Circle members, as well as helping with Women’s Ministry programs throughout the year.
How do I Join a Circle?
If you are already in a Circle, you will automatically be in it next year unless you contact us and let us know you’d like to change. If you’re new to Circles, just decide which Circle you would like to join. View our circle list below.
