What a privilege it is to be a part of God’s people and to be His ambassador in our families, churches, community, and world. His call for us to serve Him and His people was demonstrated through His own Son, and it is a high calling, indeed, to represent Him to a world desperately in need of His care.
Opportunities within Our Church Family
Blooms to Go
Each week the flowers from the Sanctuary are taken down and disassembled on Monday morning. These volunteers come to the church, assemble small arrangements (very basic), and have a list of recipients (the sick, the shut-ins, the bereaved, and the elderly) to whom they should be delivered. Volunteers for this ministry will serve on this ministry team on a rotating basis. The flower ministry is fun and brings joy not only to the recipients but to the volunteers, as well.

Correspondence Ministry Team
Members of this ministry team send notes on behalf of the women’s ministry to those who have lost a loved one, those suffering from an illness, parents of new babies, and visitors to our church. If you have a merciful heart and enjoy letter writing, please consider joining this ministry team. The time commitment is very flexible, and it means a lot to receive a hand-written note from someone who cares.

Funeral Meal Ministry
Members of this ministry team cook and serve a meal for the families in our congregation following the death of loved one. This is an excellent opportunity to minister to those in our church body during a time of need. Volunteers are assigned to serve on teams on a rotational basis; therefore, you could be called upon approximately four times a year.

New Member Hospitality
Do you remember what it felt like to be new to a place? Wouldn’t it have been nice to have someone call to invite you to go with them? That’s what this ministry team is. Before each WIC event (4 times a year) you will receive the name and contact numbers of one of our new members so that you can invite them to join you and other friends for our luncheons and events. If you are unavailable for that event, others can fill in for you. Also, this ministry needs greeters to welcome and reach out to those attending our fellowship events. A friendly smile and a hello go a long way in making people feel welcome.

Special Deliveries
Join our Special Deliveries team to extend a warm welcome to our newest arrivals! Volunteers will deliver a welcome package to the families of new babies born to members of our congregation. The package includes a baby blanket made by the ladies of our Sew & Sow ministry, along with a New Testament and nursery information. This is a very convenient and flexible way to serve and can be done in a socially distanced manner.

Gateway Rescue Mission
Volunteers serve lunch and offer a short devotional for both transients and program men at Gateway Rescue Mission each Wednesday. Most volunteers come once a month. We need volunteers who would be willing to provide a small dessert (store bought or homemade) for approximately 100. This could be as simple as several bags of cookies. A Circle may want to take this on periodically as a project. Volunteers are not only helping serve the homeless but our help gives the Gateway kitchen staff a short break each week.
