First Presbyterian Church
Day School
The
Day School presents Christian education as its philosophy and
the reason for its existence. This view of education holds that
God is central in life and everything else has existence only
in relation to Him. If we learn anything correctly, we must acknowledge
that God, through Jesus Christ, must have His rightful place.
The Bible informs us that "the fear of the Lord" is
the beginning of both knowledge and wisdom (Proverbs 1:7, 9:10).
Therefore, any integrated meaningful education that is truly valid
must have this "reverence of God" as its starting point,
and doing the will of God as its goal.
The
First Presbyterian Church Day School is designed as an extension
of the Christian home and this church. The school seeks to partner
the teaching of values, goals, and discipline with parents. Both
the Christian parent and the Christian teacher are essential cooperatives
in our philosophy of education.
Determining where your son or daughter
will spend his or her formative elementary school years is a decision
that carries a lifelong impact. The early knowledge your child
receives today is the foundation upon which tomorrow’s academic
success depends, and upon which future decisions will be based. In the following overview, we
provide many reasons why we believe our school is the ideal environment
in which to begin a lifetime of learning. If you have any further
questions or need additional information regarding our school,
please do not hesitate to call me or visit our School Web Page.
