- Why a Membership Survey? -

“We have begun a season of strategic planning here at First Presbyterian Church. The Strategic Planning Committee has chosen as its theme verse: "guard the good deposit entrusted to you." (II Tim 1:14) Part of guarding that good deposit is properly evaluating the present and planning for our future. Right now, we are collecting information on our current condition.

Several initiatives are going on, but none is more important that our Membership Survey. We need your help. Our goal is to get a better picture of where we are as a congregation.

The confidential Membership Survey will be administered on consecutive Sundays, September 28 and October 5, and on Wednesday, October 1. The confidential and anonymous Membership Survey will be informative only so far as your participation goes. We need everyone to take the 10-15 minutes to complete the survey. We have made it as easy as we can, but we need your commitment to make the effort to fully participate. This is one important opportunity for all of us to contribute to the future direction of our church.

On September 28 and October 5, both Lowe Hall and Patterson Hall will be set up in such a way to allow you to stop by and take the survey at some point during the morning (before a service, after a service, at the beginning of Sunday school, etc.). The rooms are open from 8:00-12:30 and again from 5:00-5:45. We would strongly encourage you to plan and take the survey in one of these locations.

If you prefer, you can take a copy home and return it to the church. These take-home surveys will be made available to you as you exit the sanctuary following the 8:30 and 11:00 services.

On Wednesday, October 1, a room outside Miller Hall will be available for you to complete the survey. It will be open from 5:00 - 7:45.

You may also download the survey from the church website, print out a copy, and return it to the secure collection point in the church office.

The survey is CONFIDENTIAL. An envelope will be distributed with each survey for your convenience. The surveys will be securely collected and processed by an outside, third party data entry vendor. No church staff, officer or member will be able to view any survey, and we pledge to respect and ensure your confidentiality and anonymity. May God bless this important effort in the life of our church.”
